If you want a command to play back but do not want the text to be visible, as in the situation I described before, you can hide it with the tilde in front of the word. The use of the tilde ("~") in front of the word will make the text invisible and this can be used with any text in Sibelius. The "~ord." command is basically a regular Technique text command where "ord." stands for "ordinario" and is a standard technique marking in scores that indicates the musicians should return to the normal playing style (commands like norm./normal may also be used to achieve the same effect). I'm always glad to help someone out when I have the opportunity and I'm happy to hear that I've been helpful. One last thing, don't forget to put an "~ord." technique text at the beginning of the section where the tremolo playback should stop, otherwise you will continue to have tremolo playback for the rest of your score. Then just write technique text above the first note of the section you want to play tremolo like this "~tremolo," which will be invisible but will play back the tremolo samples and not any built in, strange Sibelius playback which may be affecting the samples. The next step would be to set up an articulation or text in your dictionary to output the above Sound ID and then anytime you use that articulation you would have the agressive string sound.Īs for the East West problem, that does sound very strage but I have noticed some problems with the playback of tremolos in Sibelius before and I will suggest this: use the "buzz roll" articulation on the note stem but go into the playback section of the properties window and set "Playback Tremolo" to off by unchecking the box. 1.agressive which is user created but would be a completely valid Sound ID for Violins I to play an agressive string sample. You asked about "aggressive" string samples, so if you want to access these you would have to create a separate Sound ID for this technique, e.g. Let me give you an example to make sense of this. The beauty of the new Sibelius Sound World is that you can design your own modifiers for articulations. I know I ask too much but I'm really stuck here and don't know what to do. Is there any special commands for them? If there is any, how can I learn them? How can we tell Sibelius to play other techniques which we don't have a special word for them e.g Short bow or agressive. And the worse thing is a very laoud Hissssss noise when I play the score! I never had these problems with GPO Sibelius edition.Īnyway as I said I'm very new in VSTs and there is something els I want to ask. The solo cello doesn't play the long notes and fades out until the next phrase. I have many fast (or unmeasured) but long tremolos in strings (with the little z on the stems)but what I hear is a very slow tremolos although when I hit the keyboard on the Kompakt I hear the right sound. I got the idea and it worked perfectly, but I'm having new problems with the playback! Sibelius doesn't play my music right. Thank you Daniel for your quick respond, it was really helpful. Posted by Daniel Spreadbury - 20 Sep 12:13PM I'll be so thankfull if someone can help me. Has to be or again I'm doing something wrong? when I make the sound set for say, 1st and 2nd violins in Kompakt, all these instruments and their technics are set to channel 1 in the mixer! is this the way it When I active a sound set, say for violins, and want to activate the other, Sibelius closes the first one! is there anyway to have all these soundsets together? or am I doingĢ. In other instances of Kompakt (I think!!) Now here are my problems:ġ. I'm making a sound set for the first & second violins in an instance of Kompakt which has only 8 slots so I have to make other sound sets for the violin, cello and the rest of the orchestra I'm working on a piece for the piano, violin, cello and String orchestra and I'm using EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Gold Edition with KOMPAKT which comes with the library. I'm completely new in VSTs and have some problems with using the in Sibelius 5.0 5.0: EWQL SO Gold in Sibelius 5 - Safa, 25 Sep 10:51AM 5.0: EWQL SO Gold in Sibelius 5 - Safa, 24 Sep 10:55AM 5.0: EWQL SO Gold in Sibelius 5 - David Nunez, 23 Sep 11:49PM 5.0: EWQL SO Gold in Sibelius 5 - Safa, 23 Sep 11:37AM 5.0: EWQL SO Gold in Sibelius 5 - David Nunez, 22 Sep 07:08PM 5.0: EWQL SO Gold in Sibelius 5 - Safa, 22 Sep 08:29AM 5.0: EWQL SO Gold in Sibelius 5 - David Nunez, 21 Sep 11:33PM 5.0: EWQL SO Gold in Sibelius 5 - Safa, 21 Sep 06:43PM 5.0: EWQL SO Gold in Sibelius 5 - David Nunez, 21 Sep 06:33PM 5.0: EWQL SO Gold in Sibelius 5 - Safa, 21 Sep 10:30AM 5.0: EWQL SO Gold in Sibelius 5 - Jeremy Hughes, 21 Sep 10:26AM
